I'm on Patreon!

1 min read
Hey guys,
I decided to try joining Patreon! Patreon is crowdfunding for artists. I thought it would help me spend more time creating art and less time worrying about the cost of art supplies. If you like my artwork and want to help me create more, then you can help me out by donating to my page!

You can do as little as a $1, and I would love that. :) I want to paint huge paintings on huge canvases, but I've always held off due to cost of canvases. Now the fun part, you guys get REWARDS for being my patron. You can adjust the amount and give as much or as little as you want. I don't care either way, anything would help. If you contribute, I'll love you, if you don't, I'll still love you. (But I'd really like it if you would! Haha)

Check it out!

Unless you've been hiding under a rock for the past few months, you've probably heard of the new live action movie ''Cinderella'' from Disney.
(I was so utterly enchanted by the mere previews that I made the ballgown.) Cinderella 2015 ball gown by EtaniaVII 2015 Cinderella ball gown by EtaniaVIII highly recommend it!  (Spoilers ahead)

I'll be honest, I went to see the movie for the ballgown and the ball scene. But it was SO much more than that. It made me cry, and deeply touched me. It made me feel things I had never felt before. It was magical and innocent. The scene where the Prince takes Cinderella on a tour of the palace gardens was perfect. He pushed her on the swing, and that moment was far more touching and intimate than 1000 sexy scenes in most movies. (I did some research, and found out that the garden was his late mother's and she used to love to swing on that very same swing. Oh the feels.) They spoke with their eyes, there was no need for snogging. One of my favorite lines was when the prince tells his father, ''She wasn't just a pretty girl, there was so much more to her'' he goes on to talk about her ''spirit'' and ''goodness.'' (Doesn't every girl want to be valued like that and talked about that way?) But I think my favorite scene was at the end of the movie when she showed up with no magic to help her, just as she was, and told the prince who she really was, and said, ''Will you take me as I am?'' to which he replied, ''Of course I will.'' He didn't care that she wasn't a princess, and he loved her no less when she wasn't all decked out in her finery. (I've had guys who didn't even know I existed when I wasn't all dressed up, but when I did dress up, those same guys said ''I love you'' HA!) That's one of the reasons why I love this movie so much. The prince meets Cinderella in the forest before the ball, and he's smitten by this ''good honest country girl.'' It's quite obvious he loves her for her and not her appearance. I loved every second of it and it's my new favorite movie.
So go see it!!! It's the definition of a family movie, and oh so wholesome. I haven't been this excited about a movie since I was 6.

P.S. The scene where the king dies will make you cry. Every. Single. Time. That scene isn't just a momentary tear-jerker, it's a seen where you empathize with the prince and won't soon forget it. Now I'm feeling a strange urge to become an actress...

P.P.S. I bought glass slippers. No really, I did. They're transparent high heels with crystals. There will be pictures.

Costumery

2 min read
My newest hobby: costumery. Especially dresses. I've only made one dress, Spanish Dancer Flamenco dress 3 by EtaniaVII  Spanish Dancer Flamenco dress 2 by EtaniaVII Spanish dancer Flamenco dress by EtaniaVIIbut that was enough to start the fire going. And that dress certainly won't be my last. Some women read romance novels; I make dresses. It's a way for me to be anything I can imagine. I can let my imagination run wild and make my day dreams come true. If I can fantasize it, I can make it, and that is an amazing feeling.

Has it really been a year since I first joined deviantart? Wow. I think now would be a good time to extend a thank you to all of my beloved watchers, commenters, and favoriters,(is that a word? It is now, lol)  and llama givers :D

I've learned a lot since joining deviantart, and I've grown as an artist because of help from other artists and those all important tutorials. (They change everything.) Not to mention the inspiration I get from seeing all the amazing artwork here and finding out what the human mind (and hands) are truly capable of.

Hopefully a year from now my work will be much closer to hyper-realism :D :D :D

-Etania

P.S., I will probably start taking art lessons in late 2015, I'm excited to see how I develop as a result of that.

Wow can't believe this Lenten season passed by so quickly! It's not been a bad one for me, though. :) I feel a little sad actually. I like special times of the year. I've been wondering if I should draw another picture of Jesus? How would you guys like that? Should I?

Anyway, my current work in progress is of a famous Hollywood star, commonly remembered as the most beautiful woman in the world. That's your hint for today, hehe. I hope to have the drawing finished in the next few days.
